A sketch challenge and a colour challenge...

Hello Everyone,

Hope you're all having a fab Friday. I have been busy scrapping - hooray!!! and wanted to share these with you.

The first is for the colour challenge from the CC over at Bon's...

we had to include the word 'priceless' on the LO...

... pretty flowers, yes?

and pretty ribbon...

an orange butterfly I made...
and the monogram that was part of the criteria...

another of the criteria was to include butterflies...

and more butterflies, lol.

Worked out what the colour challenge was yet???

That's right!! Red, black, white and a smidge of orange! Not a combo I am usually comfortable with, but I loved this in the end and am pleased with how this LO turned out.

The next challenge is the sketch challenge from the same CC...

a Christmas LO in March?? How bizzare!! We had to use Kraft or raw chipboard... I didn't have any Kraft...

I put this journalling box on felt! Looks alright doesn't it? One of the criteria was to have 3 or more sentences of journalling...

also had to have a border of some sort...

and here's the finished product! The other criteria was to have a 5x7 or larger photo... this was the only one I had on hand, hence why I ended up doing a Christmas LO in March! Quite happy with this one too. It's such a nice change to like what I'm producing at the moment... it's been a long time since I've been happy with my work. It's hard not to be inspired by the ever so talented DT at Bon's!! Thanks lovely ladies for the awesome challenges!!

Hello lovelies,

Over at Bon's last night, we had our CC which was huge fun, and there's so much inspiration in the challenges this month it's just not funny!!!

Anyhoo, the photography challenge runs daily, with a new prompt each day... today's is 'orange'. So, after initially thinking I'd never find anything orange, other than my husband, whom I didn't feel like photographing, I soon began to see orange everywhere.... here's the results...

First, some roses...

and some Cana (I think?!) lillies...

and some of my little mates - they do such a good job of keeping the aphids away....

and my other mate who makes honey for me...

and some mates who are apparently very close...

and one lil mate caught live eating aphids!!

and I think that's it!! Phew!! Don't know why I was so worried about seeing orange anywhere; it is abundant in my garden!!

I was going to try to group all the photos in their various categories, but Blogger is giving me the irates, so I've jumped all over a bit... just to keep you awake really!!

Changes

Hello everyone - hope you're all having a wonderful Wednesday!

So as you may have noticed, I have changed the appearance of my blog... decided it was time for a change... wasn't entirely sure about this background, but it was the only that jumped out at me, and the more I played around with it, the more I like it. What do you think? I'm liking the warm tones now that Autumn has crept up on us... can you believe it? We've had so many cool days here over Summer, that it barely feels like we had a Summer at all... really not looking forward to Winter...

Having said that though, it was the perfect excuse to go and put some new Winter clothes on layby... I think I'll have to invest in some thermals too this year! Gosh, such a shock to the system after living half my life in Darwin!!!!

Today, I have a question for you... what is your favourite scrapping technique? There are so many wonderful techniques that people use... do you find you use a variety and mix them all up, or do you tend to stick to one or two faves? Me, I tend to try a bit of everything at the moment. I think I am still discovering what exactly my personal style is... which is a bit of a pain in some ways, because I try to emulate things I've seen and loved, and end up producing a terrible LO that I really don't like.... grrr!!

Does anyone have any tips they can share?? I think I'm feeling a bit lost with my scrapping at the moment.......
